Intel-backed health focused applied AI research center launched in Telengana

Intel along with IIIT-Hyderabad, PHFI and Telangana Government has taken an initiative that will enable solutions to cover the health coverage and improved estimate of NCDs and will also reduce road accidents.

Intel India in partnership with the Government of Telangana, Hyderabad (IIIT-H), International Institute of Information Technology and Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) has announced the launch of INAI, which is an applied AI research center in Hyderabad.

INAI will develop advanced research in the area of road safety by using AI to reduce the number of road accidents and mortalities in the country with its smart mobility domain. The center will work to allow solutions to extend the health coverage to each and every individual and develop advance research for better forecast of non-communicable diseases, in the area of public health,

The INAI was inaugurated at the all. ai 2020 Virtual Summit and AI for Youth Symposium by Sri K T Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister for IT, Industries, MA & UD, Govt. of Telangana. He said he believes that it is superior for all ecosystem stakeholders to work collectively with a synchronous effort towards realising the AI vision for better governance and improving the quality of life for the people. He further said that India has a tremendous opportunity to lead human-centric applications and democratise AI for the whole world.

Nivruti Rai, country head of Intel India and Vice President of Data Platforms Group, Intel Corporation said that their aspiration is to make AI synonymous with India and try to achieve the true potential of AI in critical segments of healthcare, smart mobility and the upcoming work by progressing innovation, technology, research and skilling. The launch of the Applied AI Research Center, will train students on AI readiness skills and the all. ai 2020 Summit will support the commitment towards realising the exponential impact of AI in a collaborative and responsible manner.
