COVID-19 patient jumps from fifth floor of a hospital in Delhi

On Wednesday, a 52-year-old COVID-19 patient had allegedly jumped to death from the 5th floor of Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (RGSSH) in Shahdara area of New Delhi, according to the police official.

Doctors said that the woman was suffering from depression. The police reached the spot after receiving information about the occurrence and found that the woman, named Padmaja, was dead. She was a resident of Dilshad Colony, said a senior officer.

While investigating, it was found that she got admitted to RGSSH on Tuesday evening and jumped out of the window of her hospital room. A senior doctor at the hospital said that the womans son and husband are also admitted in the hospital. It is a dedicated coronavirus facility.

The woman along with her son were kept on the fifth floor of the COVID facility and her husband was on the sixth floor. The doctor said that apparently the woman suffered from depression. According to the police, the body is kept in GTB Hospital and an investigation is on-going.
