According to police officials, an AIIMS doctor was killed and two others are missing as their car fell into the Ganga canal in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. One more doctor, who was also travelling in the car was rescued and hospitalised.
Circle Officer Kuldeep Kumar said that the incident occurred when these four doctors of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, namely Arti, Priya, Praveen and Nitin Kumar were on their way to Delhi from Rishikesh which is in Uttarakhand in a car whose registration number is DLSCJ 4293.
On getting information about the car falling into the canal near Kamheda village, police rushed to the spot and managed to rescue Priya as the spot was within the Purkazi police station limits. However, Arti lost her life whereas Praveen and Nitin Kumar went missing. The police said that all the four doctors were in their early 30s and Priya was rushed to a hospital in a serious condition.
