As the pandemic progresses, new symptoms emerge every day. In a recent report, a team of investigators has said that acral ischemiclesions, similar to chilblains, are seen in COVID 19 patients across the globe.

It has been noted that the overall clinical presentation, course, and outcome of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus twoinfections in children differ from adults. Chilblains, erythema multiformae (EM), and cutaneous manifestations of pediatric inflammatory, multisystem syndrome temporarily-associated with SARS-CoV-2 are more frequently seen in young patients.

Chilblain-like lesions linked to COVID-19 are either an erythematous-edematous or blistering skin lesion affecting toes and soles. However, they appear less frequently onthe fingers and hands. The lesions are commonly seen in children, adolescents, and young adults. However, most of the patients have excellent health status and mild symptoms—all the cases with chill blains recovered in four to eight weeks.
