A doctor’s family has alleged that they were attacked by a patient’s relatives who came to their clinic in sector 20 of Noida’s for consultation on 24th December. An investigation in this matter is ongoing, according to the police officials.

The episode came to light on Saturday as a complaint was filed by the family members with sector 20 police. Sheena Sharma, the complainant in the case, said that the patient was complaining of vaginal bleeding since the last two months and was undertaking treatment at their clinic. She was advised an ultrasound and it was conducted on 24th December. After reviewing the ultrasound report, her mother (the doctor) advised the patient to get a Dilation and Curettage (DC) done based on the results of the ultrasound report.

She further said that the woman and her husband left the clinic, however returned the next day along with other relatives. They misbehaved with the staff and doctors at the clinic and also manhandled the complainant’s in-laws who sustained injuries. They claimed that they were connected with a prominent news channel and also threatened to shut down the clinic. They broke the clinic’s windows and tampered with the machines too. Her father-in-law tried to talk to them but they continued misbehaving so they had to call the police.

The Sharma family has shared the torment on social media too and has claimed that the police were delaying in registering the case. Based on their complaint, an NCR was registered at the sector 20 police station under sections 323 (i.e., Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 427 (i.e., Mischief resulting in damage to the amount of fifty rupees) and 504 (i.e., Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code against the woman and her husband along with other relatives.

Videos of the episode that are viral have shown the accused misbehaving with police personnel. Police officials have refused any delays in this matter and said that an investigation is ongoing. Station house officer, sector 20 police station, RK Singh said that the suspects are identified and due action will be taken shortly.
