On Monday, Tripura police arrested two men who allegedly impersonated as doctors and mistreateda pregnant lady at a hospital in Kailasaharat Unakoti district.

The two men who were arrested are identified as Raju Das (29 years) and Abhi Das (35 years). They are imprisoned in judicial custody.

According to the police, the incident happened early Sunday morning where the patient was admitted in the hospital. These two fake doctors entered the pregnant lady’s room and molested her. As soon as the woman resisted and started shouting for help, they tried to escape from the hospital. The patient’s husband then lodged a complaint at Kailasahar Women Police Station.

Officer in-charge Rinki Debbarma at Kailasahar Women Police Station said that the woman’s husband had lodged a complaint on Sunday evening and a case was registered under Section 354(B) and 417 of Indian Penal Code. Both men were absconding after the episode and were arrested later and forwarded to court.
