Ros-NET is a new artificial intelligence-powered diagnostic tool that could accurately identify rosacea. This has paved the path for further developing the technology to help in the diagnosis of the skin condition.

Traditionally, rosacea is diagnosed through a physical examination; however, this method is linked with high intra-and inter-observer variability when assessing patients. The computer-diagnostic tool integrated the information from different image scales and resolutions in order to identify rosacea lesions. The technology uses digital images shot in natural white light to identify regions on the face affected by rosacea. The algorithm utilizes natural facial features to define facial boundaries and lighting to detect areas prone to rosacea.
