Vinita Willams, a woman health worker said that she was scared of the side-effects of the COVID-19 vaccine and was not informed earlier regarding the mock drill or the dry run of the vaccine. She was made a recipient for the dry run of the coronavirus vaccination that was conducted in Jabalpur on Friday.

Willams is posted at Elgin Hospital in Jabalpur as a health worker. An SMS was sent to her asking her to come to the district hospital in between 9 am and 11 am with few other participants in the dry run. She said that after getting the message, she thought that she was summoned for deployment on COVID-19 duty at the hospital. She wasn’t aware of any mock drill of vaccination over there. As she reached the hospital, she was sanitized and then she saw injection and assumed that the vaccine trial was being done on her. She further said that she has a small child and got scared and refused to go ahead with the vaccination. She has read lot news articles regarding the side-effects of the vaccine and this was the main thought in her mind.

Because she has a small kid, she wasn’t ready to take any risks. Once the trials are completed successfully, then she will undergo vaccination with her entire family. She was not aware that it is a mock-drill hence refused to participate in it.

One more health worker did not participate in the dry run as he was suffering from severe cold and flu.
