Doctors and paramedics to get the shot in first phase as paramilitary forces gears up for COVID-19 vaccination

From 16th January, paramilitary forces will start gearing up for the highly awaited COVID-19 vaccination drive that is scheduled to start from that day.

As per the various paramilitary top officials, doctors and paramedical staff will be vaccinated during the first phase and then will be followed by all paramilitary staff, and the count is approximately 10 lakh people. Around 25,000 paramilitary paramedical staff and doctors will get vaccinated during the first phase.

The Central Reserve Police Force sources have claimed that 3,300 paramedical staff and doctors will be vaccinated in the first phase and the registration for the next phase is currently ongoing. A total of 1,92,000 CRPF jawans are registered so far. CPRF is trying to get 1,55,000 more jawans registered for the second phase.

Also, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), taking care of various COVID centres, which includes the worlds largest COVID centre in Chhatarpur area of Delhi, has completed the registration for all jawans and officers, to approximately 1 lakh. 2,500 doctors and paramedical staff of the ITBP will get the shot against coronavirus infection in the first phase.

An ITBP official said that jawans who are deployed in furthering areas in Ladakh will also get vaccinated through special camps which will be organized by local administration at the location only and they won’t require to travel to Leh for vaccination.

All jawans from the Central Industrial Security Forceare registered for the COVID-19 vaccine drive. The Sashastra Seema Bal and the National Security Guard have completed their procedure of registration as approximately 1 lakh jawans got enrolled for the vaccination. No clarity on whether disciplinary action will be taken if a jawan refused to take the vaccine.
