U.S. crosses 10 million COVID-19 vaccinations nationwide

Over 10 million Americans have been administered their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of Wednesday, as per the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The United States reached the 10.2 million vaccinations mark one day after the CDC and Trump administration issued new guidance to states on who should be given the jabs first. Strict rules putting healthcare workers first in line had decelerated the rollout. However, now the states are urged to inoculate anyone over 65 as well. Around 30 million doses of the vaccines, manufactured by Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech, have been released to U.S. states, which have used just about one-third of them… (Reuters, January 14, 2021)
