Continuing with a downward trend, the number of active COVID-19 cases in India has come down to 1,71,686. This constitutes merely 1.60% of the total infections, stated the Union Health Ministry on Friday.

The cumulative positivity rate in the country has declined to 5.50%. The COVID-19 caseload per million population in India is one of the lowest in the world, currently standing at 7,768. The number is much higher for several other countries including Germany, Russia, Italy, Brazil, France, UK and USA.
