The doctors and paramedical workers, who are holding medical camps at Tikri and Singhu borders, have criticized the disruptive scenes at the Red Fort on the Republic Day, stating a few mischievous elements were behind this act. They claimed that during this tractor rally, few of the healthcare workers bore the impact of police action that was against the farmers.

The medical and paramedical professionals had organised camps at the farmers’ protest sites under the guidance of Indian Doctors for Peace and Development and they also accompanied the farmers in their tractor rally. They said that the situation got worse when the police created hurdles on the arranged route and chose to see the other way making it easy for the farmers to move on the prohibited route.

One of the doctors said that they were present during the rally and are eyewitnesses to confirm that such vandalism was being done by just certain people and it could have been prohibited if the police were very cautious.

Thousands of tractors took the march peacefully on the specified route and it was peaceful, saying that it is hard to understand how these corrupt elements reached the Red Fort that was approximately 20km away from the Singhu borders macking some conspiracy.

The doctors treated several farmers, who got seriously injured in the lathi-charge and the teargas shells tossed by the police. Also, a medical team that was led by Dr Swaiman was attacked by the police when they were giving medical aid to the injured farmers, including policemen. At Singhu border, an ambulance was damaged and Dr Balbir Singh was pushed aside when he was nursing an injured farmer.

They appealed to the activists to remain calm and cautious and also urged the government to cancel the three farm laws in the Budget session to restore peace and also create anamiable atmosphere for discussion and dialogue.
