Global technical strategy for malaria 2016-2030

Representatives from nations affected by malaria as well as partner organizations metvirtually on January 28 in a WHO forum and shared their feedback and perspectives on the Global technical strategy for malaria 2016-2030.

An updated strategy, to be published in June 2021, will manifest the opinions shared by the stakeholders.The 15-year WHO strategy aims to guide and support nations working towards controlling and eradicating malaria. The strategy sets 4 global targets for 2030, besides interim milestones to track the progress. The latest edition of the World malaria report indicates that progress towards two of the 2020 milestones has gone astray – reduction in global mortality rates and case incidence by at least 40%. It is expected that the other two milestones directed towards country-level elimination and prevention of re-establishment of malaria will be attained… (WHO, February 1, 2021)
