COVID-19 booster and annual vaccinations likely, says UK

UK’s vaccine deployment minister has stated that a COVID-19 booster in the autumn and annual vaccinations are likely.

Health Minister Nadhim Zahawi stated that there will probably be an annual or a booster in the autumn and an annual vaccine dose, just like it is done with flu vaccinations, where the variant of virus that is spreading across the globe is looked at.

Over 12 million people in the UK have already been administered the first doses of COVID-19 vaccines. While some countries consider a vaccine passport to facilitate the easing of travel measures, the UK health minister said that Britain does not intend to introduce such a system, though individuals could seek proof from their doctor if required… (Reuters, February 7, 2021)
