A scientific statement on Diabetic Microvascular Disease has been published by the Endocrine Society in the December issue of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. The statement summarizes the types of injury/dysfunction that occur in the three classical diabetes microvascular target tissues, the eye, the kidney, and the peripheral nervous system.
