A nurse tests Covid positive after 2nd vaccine dose in Maharashtra

A 42-year-old staff nurse at the Kamptee sub-district hospital in Nagpur city of Maharashtra has tested positive for COVID-19 after 12 days of taking the second dose of vaccine.
 
Nagpur district healthcare officials had confirmed that the nurse had received the first dose of Covishield vaccine on 16th January and the second dose of vaccine on 18th February.
 
The nurse and her family members showed symptoms of COVID-19, and four of them took a rapid antigen test on 2nd March testing positive for the coronavirus. She was then immediately home isolated.
 
According to district health officer Dr Dipak Selokar, all four members took the RT-PCR test also and that was conducted the next day which came positive on 4th March. All of them have mild symptoms and are in home isolation. Also, in contact with the health authorities.
 
A senior official from the hospital stated that doctors are taking the necessary care and precautions. They are also conducting each diagnostic test to determine the infection after two doses.
