In the last 24 hours, Delhi reports 425 new COVID cases

On Tuesday, Delhi has reported 425 COVID-19 cases with the positivity rate of 0.61%, according to the data shared by the health department.

With only one fatality, the death count reached 10,945, whereas the total case count reached 6,44,489. The number of active cases has reached 2,488 on Tuesday.

The daily count has crossed the 400-mark for the 4th consecutive day on Sunday. Though, on Monday, it dropped to 368 with a positivity rate of 0.59%. On Saturday, Delhi recorded 419 new coronavirus cases with a positivity rate of 0.56% and 407 cases were recorded on Sunday.

The total tests that were conducted on Sunday were at 70,049, which includes 39,425 RT-PCR and 30,624 rapid antigen tests. The number of people who are under home isolation has reached 1,401 on Tuesday from 1,342 on Monday. More than 6.31 lakh people have recovered from the disease till date.

A total of 585 cases were reported on 1st January and 424 cases on 3rd January. The daily count had reduced to 306 cases on 11th January and it rose again to 386 cases on 12th January, as per the official data. The cases then started to drop in February.

Doctors and health experts stated that the “sudden rise” in cases is due to people becoming ignorant and not following the COVID-appropriate behaviour.
