New clinical and service delivery recommendations for HIV prevention, treatment and care released by WHO

The World Health Organization (WHO) has published new guidelines that provide new and updated recommendations on the use of point-of-care testing in children below 18 months of age and point-of-care tests to follow the treatment in people living with HIV; the treatment monitoring algorithm; as well as the timing of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in people living with HIV undergoing treatment for tuberculosis.

The new recommendations delineate pivotal new actions for countries to enhance the delivery of HIV testing, treatment and care services.
