MHA urges states to promote COVID appropriate behavior

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has advised states and Union territories to take the required measures to promote COVID-19 appropriate behavior, including wearing of face masks, hand hygiene and social distancing.

The MHA addressed a letter to states on Friday amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in several parts of the country. The ministry noted that the surge in cases is attributed to leniency in COVID-19 appropriate behavior. Taking note of the approaching festivals and holidays, the ministry stated that ensuring compliance of guidelines is vital.
