In a bizarre incident in Akbarpur area of Kanpur dehat, an auxiliary nursing midwife, busy on her mobile, COVID-19 vaccine injection twice to a woman. This is a case of sheer medical negligence during vaccination drive. While the ANM has been out off duty from the vaccination drive, the district magistrate has taken serious cognizance of the medical negligence and asked for a detailed report. 

A 50-year-old lady Kamlesh Kumari went to Marhauli PHC to get her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The ANM was talking on phone to someone while she gave her the first hab. While she was under observation, the ANM shot the vaccine again at Kumari while still talking on mobile. Fortunately, the lady in question did not show any symptoms of any side effects or reaction of being administered the vaccine twice. However, the incident led the DM to put a ban on use oof mobile phones on all vaccination centres by health workers and staff.
