Several Vaccine Sites Halt Vaccination with Johnson & Johnson Shot after Adverse Reactions

Several vaccine sites across the United States have halted the administration of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine following reports of adverse reactions, reported The Associated Press.

On Thursday, three vaccination sites in North Carolina were temporarily closed after many people developed immediate reactions. Some sites in Colorado, Georgia, and Iowa were also closed after several people developed adverse reactions.

Kathleen Toomey, MD, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Health, said that there appears to be no reason to believe that there is something wrong with the vaccine, and that other people who have received the J&J vaccine need not be concerned. Some reactions, including nausea and dizziness, were consistent with common reactions that are associated with any vaccine, stated the Georgia Department of Public Health. But owing to the number of people affected, the vaccine was halted for evaluation… (Medscape)
