More than 300 doses of anti-Covid vaccine are stolen from a hospital in Jaipur, amidst the second wave of coronavirus infection in the country. The authorities have lodged a criminal case against the theft. An official said that a total number of 320 vaccine doses of Bharat Biotechs Covaxin has gone missing from the Kanwatiya government hospital in Shastri Nagar.

The hospital authorities had informed the chief medical and health officer of Jaipur about this theft on Tuesday night and an FIR was lodged on Wednesday.

Dr Narottam Sharma, Jaipur’s CMHO, said that he was informed on Tuesday night that the vaccine doses got stolen which was very surprising. A police case is registered in this matter. Sharma said that a departmental investigation has been ordered into the theft.

Shastri Nagar police stations SHO Dilip Singh said that an FIR is registered about the theft of 32 vials of COVID-19 vaccine from storage. Each vial has almost 10 doses.
