1565: People who have received both doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines will possibly need to have a booster dose.

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla stated that individuals who have been given both doses would probably require a third JAB within 12 months and might require a shot annually afterwards.

There are vaccines like pneumococcal where one dose is enough for adults.

COVID is like flu and may need vaccine every year.

The COVID virus appears to be more like the influenza virus.

The United States is in a favorable position to move into booster shots on account of its vaccine rollout, while several other nations are still getting first vaccinations.

Countries that have attained high vaccine coverage will soon be ready to shift their focus to boosters in 2022 and possibly by the end of this year.

Johnson & Johnson CEO Alex Gorsky also said that people may need to get vaccinated against COVID-19 annually.(WebMD)

1566: Herpes zoster reactivation or shingles after COVID-19 vaccination has been reported in six patients with comorbid autoimmune/inflammatory diseases. This may be a new adverse event tied to the Pfizer/BioNTech mRNA vaccine.

At two centers in Israel, six cases of herpes zoster soon after administration of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine were reported in patients with disorders like rheumatoid arthritis, since December 2020.
