Two years since the launch of a pilot program, over 1.7 million doses of the world’s first malaria vaccine have now been administered in Ghana, Kenya and Malawi, helping over 650 000 children with added protection against malaria.

During a time when the progress in malaria control has been impeded on a global level, the protection provided by the vaccine, in conjunction with the recommended malaria control interventions, can potentially save thousands of lives every year.
