World Malaria Day is observed to emphasize the need for continued investment and sustained political commitment to prevent and control malaria. The Day this year is being marked by WHO and partners by recognizing the achievements of countries that are approaching, and attaining, malaria elimination. 

These countries provide inspiration for all nations that are working towards eliminating this fatal disease and are striving to improve the health and livelihoods of their populations. On April 21, WHO published a new report emphasizing the success and lessons learned amongthe “E-2020” group of malaria-eliminating countries .Amid the challenges faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several of these countries have reported no indigenous cases of malaria in 2020, while other countries have made considerable progress towards eliminating the disease… (WHO)
