The first case of the Indian coronavirus variant has been identified in Switzerland, stated the Federal Office for Public Health (BAG).

The case was found in a passenger who arrived in Switzerland through a transit airport and not directly from India. The test was conducted at the end of March, BAG told Reuters, stating that the person entered Switzerland through a European country. BAG stated that discussions were underway on whether to add India to its list of high-risk countries, from where people must go into quarantine on arrival in Switzerland.
