First batch of Russia's COVID-19 vaccine to reach India on May 1

India is set to receive the first batch of Russias Sputnik V vaccine on May 1, stated the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev.

Dmitriev; however, did not mention the number of vaccines that will be there in the first batch or where they would be made. Russias RDIF sovereign wealth fund is marketing Sputnik V worldwide and agreements have already been signed with five leading manufacturers in India for more than 850 million doses of the vaccine in a year. The RDIF expects vaccine production in India to reach 50 million doses a month by the summer and to increase further… (Reuters, April 27, 2021)
