While immunization services begin to have a slow recovery from disruptions due to COVID-19 pandemic, millions of children are still susceptible to deadly diseases, stated the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, emphasizing the urgent need for improved global commitment toward improving vaccination access and uptake.

According to a WHO survey, despite progress in comparison with the situation in 2020, over a third of respondent countries (37%) continue to report disruptions to their routine immunization services.
