India sees 3,286 deaths in last 24 hrs crossing the 2-lakh mark

India’s COVID’S official death count has crossed more than 2 lakhs as both new cases and deaths are rising at an alarming rate. India saw over 3,000 deaths on a single day for the first time since the outbreak. 3,62,770 new cases and 3,286 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, which being the highest count so far. Tuesday was the 7th day in a row as India reported more than 3 lakh cases and the 8th continuous day where the deaths has exceeded 2,000.

A country-wise assessment has shown that the USA saw maximum COVID deaths till now and the coronavirus infection has killed 5.72 lakh people so far. The second country with 3.92 lakh deaths is Braziland Mexico is the 3rd country to report 2.15 lakh COVID deaths. India’s death count of 2,01,106 is the world’s fourth-worst count. Besides them, there are 4 other countries – UK, Russia, Italy and France who have seen over lakh deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic.

11 states and UTs have reported their highest single-day case countbreaching the previous record of cases. Following are the states – Kerala (32,819 cases), West Bengal (16,403 cases), Tamil Nadu (15,830 cases), Gujarat (14,352 cases), Haryana (11,931 cases), Telangana (10,122 cases), Uttarakhand (5,703 cases), Himachal Pradesh (2,157 cases), Jammu and Kashmir (3,164 cases), Puducherry (1,021 cases) and Chandigarh reported 837 cases on Tuesday. Delhi reported 24,149 cases and West Bengal along with Rajasthan reported over 16,000 cases on Tuesday.
