UNICEF sends 3,000 oxygen concentrators, other critical supplies to India

UNICEF has sent critical supplies, including 3,000 oxygen concentrators, diagnostic tests, medical kits, besides other equipment to help India fight the ongoing deadly wave of COVID-19.

Besides oxygen concentrators, UNICEF has sent over 500 high flow nasal cannulas and 85 RT-PCR machines. The agency is also supporting with the procurement and installation of 25 oxygen plants for hospitals in the Northeast and in Maharashtra. It is also helping with the installation of over 70 thermal scanners at different ports of entry across the country. Senior experts have been deployed by UNICEF in the worst affected states such as Maharashtra, to support the state and local authorities for short-term COVID-response planning and monitoring… (UNICEF, April 29, 2021)
