Delhi records 27,047 fresh COVID-19 cases with 375 deaths in a single day

In the last 24 hours on Friday, Delhi has witnessed 375 COVID-19 deaths and more than 27,000 new cases with a positivity rate of 32.69 %, as per the Delhi health department bulletin.

The total number of COVID-19 count of Delhi has reached 11,49,333 cases with the addition of new infections. The national capital also reported 25,288 recoveries from coronavirus disease in the last 24 hours. Delhi has seen daily fatalities of above 300 for the 9th consecutive day.

A total of 10,33,825 people has recovered from COVID-19 in Delhi whereas the total death countis at 16,147. The case fatality rate is 1.40%. 82,745 tests were conducted that included 7,42,590 RT-PCR tests and 20,011 rapid antigen tests in the last 24 hours, according to the bulletin.

India reported 3,86,452 fresh coronavirus cases on Friday, which is the highest single-day spike since the pandemic started last year.

As per the Union Health Ministry, almost 3,498 deaths and 2,97,540 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours. The growing count of the COVID-19 cases has reached 1,87,62,976 cases. The total number of active cases in India has mounted to 31,70,228. Approximately 2,08,330 people have died due to COVID-19 so far and a total number of 1,53,84,418 people have recovered from it till now.
