Mumbai Records Lowest Single-Day COVID-19 Cases in More than 5 Weeks

On Monday, Mumbai reported 2,624 new COVID-19 cases in a span of 24 hours, recording the lowest single day surge in more than 5 weeks. 

The number of COVID-19 tests also came down from a daily average of 50,000 to 38,000 on Sunday, reported official data. The fatalities in Mumbai stood at 13,372 with 78 new deaths reported in 24 hours. The total number of infections stood at 6,58,621 on Monday in the city.

Maharashtra had been reporting more than 60,000 cases in a day last month, but on Monday, recorded 48,621 new cases. The recovery rate in the state is 84.7%, while the case fatality rate is 1.49% and the positivity rate is 17.12%... (NDTV, May 4, 2021)
