Army sounds alarm over reduction of oxygen quota for Base Hospital in Delhi Cantt

The Indian Army has sounded alarm over the Delhi government decreasing the daily oxygen quota for its Base Hospital in Delhi Cantonment, pointing that its reserves may exhaust if the shortages are not addressed timely.

The Army took up the urgent need for added allocation of oxygen for the Base Hospital with the defence ministry and state authorities, while it continues to arrange large cylinders on its own from nearby places. A senior Army officer said that the Base Hospitalhas been converted into a 450-bed COVID facility and requires 3.4 metric tonne of oxygen in the form of cylinders every day. The Delhi government was allotting only 1 MT till now, which was further decreased to 0.42 MT from Monday night onwards… (ET Healthworld – TNN, May 5, 2021)
