Canada authorizes Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for 12 to 15 year olds

Canada has authorized the use of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 12 to 15 years.

It has become the first country to do so for this age group. The countrys health ministry made the decision on the basis of data from phase three clinical trials conducted on children in this age group. It was determined that the vaccine is safe and effective in this age group. The country has already authorized the use of Pfizer vaccine in individuals above 16 years of age. The province of Alberta, with the highest rate of infection in the country, would begin offering the vaccines to those above 12 years of age from Monday… (BBC, May 6, 2021)
