Pfizer asks UK regulator to approve COVID-19 vaccine for adolescents

Data has been submitted by Pfizer Inc on its COVID-19 vaccine among adolescents aged 12 to 15 years to UK’s health regulator, reported a company spokesman.

The spokesman told Reuters that data on the efficacy of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in 12- to 15-year olds has been submitted to be reviewed by UK MHRA. The move came a day after U.S. regulators authorized the vaccine for use in this age group. The company has also stated that safety and efficacy data on the vaccine for children aged 2 to 11 yearsis expected in September, and it will then seek emergency use authorization for that age group… (Reuters, May 12, 2021)
