The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has backed the Bombay High Court’s directive to the Center to reconsider its policy and include doorstep vaccinations against COVID-19 in its plan.

According to members of the IMA, this initiative would accelerate the pace of vaccinations and cover the maximum population in record time. Senior surgeon and IMA national president, J A Jayalal, said that the Union Government should revise its policy now. He said, “Our members would wholeheartedly participate in the process as vaccinators or as members of standby medical teams supervising such vaccinations at small medical units, housing society premises and school and college campuses.” (ET Healthworld – TNN, May 15, 2021)
