Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said that India will have 51.6 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses by the end of July, including the 18 crore doses that have already been administered.

He reviewed the public health response to COVID-19 and progress of vaccination in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat. These states have been showing a higher growth rate in daily cases, increase in positivity rate, high mortality and saturation of healthcare capacity. He emphasized that the plateauing of cases being observed at present must not be taken as a sign for complacency.
