As the world begins to reopen amid the rise in COVID-19 vaccinations, top medical experts indicate that another round of shots may be needed within about a year.

As per Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla and Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, a booster COVID-19 vaccine dose for those who have already been inoculated may be required about 8 to 12 months after their second jab.

Dr Fauci stated, "We know that the vaccine durability of the efficacy lasts at least six months, and likely considerably more, but I think we will almost certainly require a booster sometime within a year or so after getting the primary." (CNN, May 20, 2021)
