Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan stated that India will have acquired 267 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses by the end of 2021, and will be equipped to vaccinate at least the entire adult population in the country.

According to the union minister, 51 crore vaccine doses will be made available by July and 216 crore more doses will be available from August through December. He urged states to make sure that the healthcare and frontline workers are fully vaccinated.

The minister was interacting with the health ministers and principal secretaries/additional chief secretaries of West Bengal and eight northeast states.
