India’s cumulative vaccination coverage has crossed the 19 crore mark, with 10 states accounting for more than 66% of the doses.

Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate came down to 12.59% and less than 3 lakh daily new COVID-19 infections have been registered for five consecutive days. The health ministry has stated that Maharashtra leads the states in terms of vaccinations, with 10.6% doses which translates to 2,04,65,193, followed by 1,58,13,654 (8.24%) doses in Uttar Pradesh and 1,57,08,235 doses (8.19%) in Rajasthan. The remaining seven states include Gujarat with 7.91% doses, West Bengal with 6.74%, Karnataka with 6.15%, Madhya Pradesh with 4.97%, Bihar with 4.88%, Kerala with 4.48% and Andhra Pradesh with 4.09% doses… (ET Healthworld – TNN, May 22, 2021)
