Panacea Biotec starts production of Sputnik V vaccine: RDIF

Biotech firm Panacea Biotec Ltd started the production of Russias Sputnik V vaccine against COVID-19 in India on Monday, stated the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), which markets the vaccine worldwide.

The first batch of vaccines made by Panacea Biotec will be shipped to the Gamaleya institute which developed the vaccine, for quality controls, reported RDIF. It is anticipated that full-scale production will begin this summer. Panacea Biotec intends to produce 100 million doses of the vaccine annually, said RDIF in April.
