Moderna said that its COVID-19 vaccine is safe and seems to be effective in adolescents.

A Phase 2/3 trial involving 3,732 children, 12 to 17 years of age, in the United States, revealed that the vaccine evoked an immune response that was equivalent to previous findings in adults. Initial data suggest that none of the children administered the vaccine got sick with COVID-19 starting 14 days following the receipt of second dose. Four of the children who were given the placebo tested positive for COVID-19, which the company said is in line with a vaccine efficacy of 100%.
