People in South Korea do not need masks outdoors if vaccinated against COVID

South Korea on Wednesday announced that masks will not be required outdoors from July for people who have been vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

The move comes as an attempt to encourage older individuals to get vaccinated as the country aims to vaccinate at least 70% of its population by September, which stands at a mere 7.7% at present. Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum said that people who have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine will also be allowed to gather in larger numbers from June. He added that the quarantine measures would be adjusted in the month of October once over 70% of the population had received the first vaccine dose… (Reuters, May 26, 2021)
