As Pfizer sought a fast-track approval for its COVID-19 vaccine, the company told Indian authorities that the vaccine has been found to be highly effective against the coronavirus variant prevalent in India as well as among people of Indian ethnicity or nationality. It added that the vaccine is suitable for people 12 years of age and above and can be stored at 2-8 degrees for up to a month.

Pfizer is ready to offer 5 crore doses of its vaccine to India from July through October, 2021 and has asked for some relaxations, including indemnification.
