Govt analyzing Pfizer's indemnity request, vaccine supply likely in July

NITI Aayog Member (Health) VK Paul has stated that the government is analyzing Pfizers request for indemnity and a decision will be taken in the interest of people and based on merit.

Mr Paul said that the government was engaged with Pfizer and it has indicated the availability of some doses of vaccine in the coming months, which will probably begin in July. Looking for a fast-track approval for its COVID-19 vaccine, Pfizer had informed Indian officials earlier that the vaccine has exhibited high effectiveness against the coronavirus variant that is wide spread in India and on people of Indian ethnicity/nationality. The company also stated that its vaccine is suitable for people 12 years of age and above and can be stored at 2-8 degrees up to one month… (NDTV – PTI, May 28, 2021)
