Screening of children to start for Covaxin trials at AIIMS Delhi

From Monday, the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) of Delhi is going to start screening children for clinical trials of their home-grown COVID-19 vaccine, namely Bharat Biotechs Covaxin.

Following AIIMS Patna, who had recently started the trials on children in the age group of 12 - 18 years old, AIIMS Delhi will also start these clinical trials.

After receiving the permission from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), AIIMS in Delhi will soon start the screening for clinical trials before initiating the trials on children.

A recommendation to grant the permission of trials was done 12th May 12 by a Subject Expert Committee, which was followed by DCGIs approval.
