India Registers Daily COVID-19 Case Count below 1 Lakh after 63 Days

India recorded less than one lakh new COVID-19 cases after a span of 63 days, as the daily positivity rate dipped to 4.62%, stated the Union Health Ministry data on Tuesday.

The country registered 86,498 new COVID-19 cases in a day, which is the lowest in 66 days, as the COVID-19 case tally now stands at 2,89,96,473. The number of deaths related to COVID-19 was 2,123 in a single day, taking the total toll to 3,51,309. The daily death count is the lowest in around 47 days.

The daily positivity rate has been less than 10% for 15 days in a row, stated the health ministry… (NDTV, June 8, 2021)
