Fully vaccinated people need not wear masks in open-air areas of public transit: CDC

Fully vaccinated individuals who travel by public transportation do not have to wear masks in places such as outdoor waiting areas or open-air seating, stated the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The agency will update the face masks order to indicate the change. Till then, it will exercise its enforcement discretion to not need masks in outdoor areas of transportation hubs, for instance bus or train stops, or open-air areas on ferries, trolleys and buses. The order applies to public conveyances, including airplanes, trains, subways, buses, taxis, shared rides, maritime transport, trolleys and cable cars. Individuals who are not yet vaccinated have to continue wearing masks in these areas, stated the agency… (CNN, June 11, 2021)
