Another rare blood condition added as side effect of AstraZeneca vaccine

The drug regulator of Europe has detected another very rare blood condition as a side effect of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and is evaluating the cases of heart inflammation after vaccination with all COVID-19 vaccines.

According to the European Medicines Agencys (EMA) safety committee, capillary leak syndrome (CLS) should be added as a new side effect to the labelling on AstraZeneca vaccine. The EMA stated that individuals who had sustained the condition earlier, where fluids leak from the smallest blood vessels resulting in swelling and a fall in blood pressure, should not be given the jab.
