IMA Andhra Pradesh to protest on 18th June for violence against doctors

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Andhra Pradesh chapter and its members are going to protest across the State against the violence done to doctors on 18th June. It will be as a part of the nationwide protest.

IMA, Andhra Pradesh Chapter’s, President, Dr. N. Subrahmanyam, Dr. C. Srinivasa Raju, President-elect, IMA COVID Taskforce convenor and State secretary Dr. G. Nanda Kishore on Tuesday stated that all the medical employees will stage demonstrations and protest against the sequences of physical attack on doctors and verbal outburst by Baba Ramdev against government sponsored programmes such as vaccination along with COVID managed and belittling of modern medicine.

They will gather in front of the hospitals with the staff wearing a black dress, black flags with placards that will read as ‘save the saviour’. They said that considering the pandemic situation, no services will be affected or withdrawn because of their protest.

IMA has appealed that the State and Central governments should recognise and impart martyr-hood to all the doctors who have died and also award solatium to their families under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package and stop attacks against doctors by the promulgation of ‘Health Services Personnel & Clinical Establishments with mandatory security structure.
